I’ll change who I am for the better
Or live with it for the worst.
I’ll get us through this,
Even if it hurts.
I’ll stand over you,
With a protective arm.
I’ll fight them away,
They’ll show you no harm.
I’ll kiss it better,
The scars on your heart.
I’ll find the glue, tape, and staples
When it’s fallen apart.
I’ll be your rock,
And stand by your side,
I’ll be the light in the closet.
There is no need to hide.
And when the day’s gone,
And night’s to blame,
No matter the cost I’ll be there all the same.
Because you are my angel.
