Never Alone With the Stars
I remember the days gone by and the moments past,
Light fixtures in the sky and the first glance.
Six foot two, dark and tall,
You caught me when I’d stumble, trip and fall.
I remember the first silent words we spoke at last,
Me, in the sun under the shadow you cast.
Arms wound around the waist.
The softness of your lips, I could taste.
I remember the words that meant the most,
As the sand squished between our toes on the Florida coast.
I miss it, yes I do.
When you spoke the words, “I love you.”
