   after the day is gone

they come out,

very few men follow,

although it is not right

but do they care??

for them it is not necessary

for them it is a sport,

no, they do not care.

snap, their light goes on,

the deer freeze

momentarily paralyzed,

then bang!!

one falls, the rest run,

bounding away

over the fences

that we cannot see,

disappearing into the night.

but the men do not care,

the deer will be back.
