Bittersweet
By Nicky S., Hamilton, MA
His face is stubble and fine
of wintergreen sparkle and dredlocks of wine.
Pouty lips moist and meshed
Pucker and smack and sweeter.
Shine of boot, kick of steel, and bitter swallow
spoiled words and sorrowful eyes
never make up for all that follows.
