me (simply looking and listening and watching,
with great big eyes like cereal bowls in the morning),
and the universe (’s pinholes glowing in the blackness,
in the ever-expanding, ever-growing emptiness).
me (feeling insignificant and lonely and yet,
accompanied by this moon-cut silhouette),
and the universe (’s stars traveling at the speed of light,
but not fast enough – we grasp boldly the past tonight).
(I see the moon and the moon sees) me,
and (I look at him wond’ring what could be,)
the universe (tonight apathetic to my plight,
will let things take their course on this interesting night).
