Plastic everywhere, fluorescent and neon lights,
Tiles worn with thousands offeet,
Bright signs screaming "Sale!"
Frustrated parents yelling at theirchildren,
Teenagers snapping gum and "hanging out"
Just a typical day atthe mall.

Yet in the middle of it all,
There is a small circle orsquare
With majestic trees and hundreds of flowers,
Maybe even a tricklingstream
Or a tiny waterfall.
A miniature garden within themall.

Amazing the difference between the two,
The peacefulness ofone,
The dissonance of the other,
Makes you wonder
Who put the plants inthe madness,
And if they found it as ironic as you.
