A Silent Cry

Tall and graceful are the arms
Of the willow reaching in a plea -
"Someone stop the evil ones
Who are ruining the race of me!"
She bows her head in sorrow
As she begins to slowly die
Last precious moments are spent listening
To the shrill, cold chainsaw's cry.
