   The Sound
GUNSHOT! It startled me at first, but I was on my way,
I had trained myself heavily just for this day,

Had to keep on running, running with all my might,
the adrenaline was pumping oh, so much that night.

I was trailing by seven, and needed to get my gain,
yet, I was so far back, and my leg was in pain.

But somewhere deep inside me, somewhere deep inside,
I got my act together now, trailing by only five.

A distance far away, I could hear the crowd shout with glee,
all because now, I'm trailing by only three.

Passed one, passed two I thought I was in first,
with my opponent just beside me, I thought my legs would burst.

For some reason, I thought I'd lose this one,
but hey, isn't a game supposed to be for fun?

When the race was finally over, the glory was all mine,
because, I was the first to cross the finish line!
