she stood beneath the street lamp
waiting for evening to pass her by

eyes fixed to the bulb mesmerized by
its glow appearing to be shadow-like
dressed in her black dress which floated
silently around her

the gown was constantly brushed by the
rigid movements of her hair in the
evening breeze

her face shone like the full moon above
with a pearly white finish as her
tender lips stood out like the sun
on an evening sky

perfectly sculpted

outlined with a scarlet thread
