There is world in which I dwell,
A world of faceless crowds and nameless people.
Where the streets go forever
And the skies fade away in the distance to nothing.

Its a place where everything that never has,
Or will, exists.
People who might've been but weren't.
Places that might've been but aren't.
Things that might've been but haven't.

In this world everything exists as it might've been.
This is a world where no one has identity,
or even a defined shape.
A perfect utopia of peace with everything a utopia could want.

A world that never was.

The author's comments:
I just wrote this on a whim and posted it on moodle. Then in class we were doing poetry analysis and someone suggested we do this poem but no one knew that I wrote it. When I was called on I said it wasn't fair for me to answer and when asked why I said I wrote it and my interpretation would bias everyone else. People were shocked and said that the poem was beautiful. I'm skeptical as I wrote this in five minutes to raise my class participation grade but I'm sending it to you guys to see what everyone thinks.

wow your class was right and you poem is deep as well, i'm from waxhaw too. Though the last time one of my poems was said out loud people just began screaming that i was emo. Hope to read more of your work...
