reaching
roundly for right words;
warming, waiting: when to
wonder, what to
want. searching, sounding,
sighing guesses. smiles and whispers,
watching sideways, stolen wishes winging
home, hating hesitation.
held and holding, hands heat answers.
shuffling, sulking, wild and withering,
whose heart holds the hollowest hushes,
hammers the holiest hurting?
But before the balance betrays boldness,
something bends into
breaking, pouring, dancing, filling,
taking, burning, joining, spilling;
arms reaching, framing,
enclosing and claiming. tiptoes and
butterflies, lips
tingle hello with impudence.
