   Daybreak

A minute whisper of grey dawn appears against the horizon.
A faint, luminescent glow slowly creeps toward the sky.
Light shades of gold spread mercury-like
Creating a subtle shimmer on the black velvet sky.
Suddenly, the heavens become a breathtaking palette of
Reds interlaced with oranges,
Golds entwined with violets,
Lasting but a moment.
All this to herald the sun
As it tiptoes over the horizon
And casts its warm golden rays
Into the clear sky.
