Folkman With A Guitar Or The Depravity Of Modern Musicians MAG

By Anonymous

   Listening to my song,

folk man with a guitar

says, "Sing more like me"

and his voice rings much

too loud

I do not want to be like you

- Folk man with a guitar -

your voice is filled with want

and the threat of personal stardom

Need you be so loud?

Sing for us a story

Like the old bards

Tell us a story

Don't feed us one

we don't want to hear

your struggle for

your lost glory

Sing us something soft

so we hear the song

more than your voice.

You see, this is what I love--an adult sounding poem written by a teen. When I say adult sounding, that doesn't solely imply big words and complex themes but rather the elegence or simplicity and the orginiality of theme--utterly wonderful. Best I've seen on this website so far (please revise this and perhaps change some of the wording, add a little more imagery, etc. and then you MUST submit this to an ADULT poetry contest. Ok???? YOU WILL THANK ME LATER...
