Behind These Brown Eyes MAG

By Anonymous

   On the outside

it may seem

I can handle everything

that comes my way.

But behind

these brown eyes

are bronze file cabinets,

cast into concrete walls

woven with chicken wire.

My mind has locked them,

with a skeleton key, which

fear conceals like

silence hides an opinion;

no one knows

I've put chains on my emotions. I've

locked them behind bars

like an axe murderer

waiting for the electric chair.

A dictatorship rules

behind these brown eyes.

But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.
1 Peter 3:15

This is totally really amazing! I absolutely love metaphors and this is a great extended metaphor. Good job putting a lot of imagery in there also.
