Many young black girls don’t
Taught by society to think they’re not
Little black girls don’t want black dolls they only want white ones
I ask them why

So what about the black one
We teach the kids to hate what’s different
So on tv when they see white that’s all they like
When they see black like themselves they step back and refuse
But I refuse
I refuse to sit back and let my little sister think she’s not beautiful because she’s black
So I tell her black is beautiful and so are you
Love your self as well as others
