I am an orange skittle,

always made fun of because I clash with the bag;



all of the other skittles hate me;

when I am thrown against them, when the bag moves

and they always fight back.

They make me feel lonely.

I wish I were a different color.



A red skittle might be nice;

I would match the bag

and everyone would love me.



A purple skittle would be divine;

I would be the darkest and boldest of the rest

and everyone would love me.



A yellow skittle would be dandy;

I would feel like a bright beautiful flower

and everyone would love me.



A green skittle would be lovely;

I would feel like a tall tree

standing proudly in the sun

and everyone would love me,



but, I'm an orange skittle

hiding in a corner

with nobody loving me.



Are the commercials right?

Do we just fall out of a rainbow?

Do you actually taste the rainbow?

I may never know until someone tells me the truth

or we converse with a leprechaun.



Those of us who are orange must pull our strength together

and swim to the top of the bag,

where there is no competition



I almost made it free

I was pushed around so much

now the only left of me are my hands,

reaching for the top of the bag.
