By
   The virus going around;

will soon hit everyone, soon.

The groundhog

didn't see his shadow;

it is coming

sooner than normal -

the little snow we had

has melted away,

leaving the dried up

brownish greenish grass uncovered.

The air is lighter and moister,

perfect -

not damp enough to curl my hair.

Kids don't want to work,

slack on their homework,

won't study for tests,

wild in the classrooms,

uncontrollable!

White-legged boys wearing shorts

when it is still cold -

they are just excited for the change;

the smell of it in the air,

like apple pie baking:

it is spring fever

coming

to a high school near you

to infect students of all ages.
