Memory Sweet MAG

By Anonymous

A beam of light bounces from the wall

illuminating his face

To reveal salt tears streaming down sunken cheeks

blurring the smiling faces

of memory sweet

Like lightning

his fist makes contact

smashing through thin wood

Breaking the harmony of images from years gone by

as drops of red swirl on carpet green

The shaking splintered hands

cling to the projector, grasp onto old times

and fold to pray for the past

which never shall repeat

Shadows dance around the hole in the wall

A brand new memory sweet
