Innocence and Experience
As a child I looked at the world with innocent eyes,
A world which was rich in color and splendor,
Trees with hues of green and flowers in a blaze of beauty,
Friends everywhere, smiles lost in love,
But experience was a rude cruel shock,
Trees cut down due to human greed,
Stumps in place of green,
No flowers but concrete, factories and smoke,
Pain, hatred, poverty and misery
