You're running back and forth
I'm only asking you to stay
Stay until I say

Contemplating upon if staying will be the downfall

Rushing down this never ending street
Is it leading us to the alley we once knew
Or is it sending us off this bridge tonight

The tide is high
Just hope tonight I won't drift under the frozen bottom
I'm staying here tonight

Gasping for a helping hand
I'm slowly being defeated by the currents
Don't let the tide pull me away

Pull me up on board
Sail onward with no directions at all
We'll find a way

The author's comments:
When I write I don't really think about it, I just write whatever is on my mind and a lot of the time it has something to do with love. My biggest inspiration would have to be my boyfriend. All my poetry I write has something to do with life, but not nessarily mine, or at least at that point in time. I ironically enough write poetry and then it ends up coming true. For example, if the poem is about finding love, I find love.
