The beat grows louder
The music pounding
Bodies tangled on the dance floor.

Heat and sweat dominate the air,
But nobody notices.
The beat is too strong.

The dancing continues,
Song after song,
They feel they can't stop.
The beat is too strong.

High on drugs,
Drunk on alcohol.
The dancing continues,
The beat is too strong.

Everyone's tired,
But they don't want to stop.
They're losing control
And the beat is too strong.

Suddenly the music stops.
The bodies are free.
But they collapse to the floor
Without the beat.

Wow. I love this piece. I really do. The beat that's too strong is very evident through your choice of words. I can feel a beat in the poem.
