A View from the Balcony
The sun beats down mercilessly, but the people do not seem to mind.
Little flurries of wind come and go as they swing the palm tree leaves.
Fountains jump as they show their miraculous vertical leaps,
Then gracefully slip back down.
Water ripples and clouds drift,
There could not be a more perfect day.
The blue of the sky matches that of the luxurious pool.
Birds skim the lake as they chase each other,
Little kids run innocently back and forth from one pool to the other as their parents laugh and say, “How cute are they?”
Footballs are thrown and beach balls are tossed, everyone is out to play.
The sun beats down mercilessly, but the people do not seem to mind
Oh no, not today.
