Fearless

Im not afraid of roller coasters,
Im not afraid of the monsters under my bed,
Im not afraid of the zombies on my brother’s “big boy movies”,
Im not afraid of my neighbor’s dog “Killer”
Im not afraid of the bully in my 2nd grade class,
Im not afraid of walking home from school by myself,
Im not even afraid of my big brother!
Im not afraid of breaking my arm when I fall off my bike,
Im not afraid of the scary people that live in my closet at night,
Im really not afraid of anything when I think about it.
Yet when I see the shadow under my bedroom, the shadow of my daddy after a long day at work, I get very, very scared. Maybe it’s because I know exactly what’s coming next; but my daddy says I’m being a good girl, so I guess I shouldn’t be afraid right?
