I Never Told
I told everyone that I was happy, healthy, and smitten.
I never told anyone about
My wishes,
My hopes,
My dreams,
My secret desires.
I never told anyone I loved you.
I told everyone about
How you walked,
How you smiled,
How your personality sparkled,
How you looked.
I told everyone you were perfect.
I never told anyone about
What you whispered in my ear,
What I felt inside,
What you asked me to do,
What I said.
I never told anyone I said no.
I told everyone about
The party that night,
The magic sizzling in the air
The drinks we had,
The love you seemed to show for me,
I told everyone you were fine.
I never told anyone about
Your brutality,
Your forcefulness,
Your barbaric ways,
Your hand clapped over my mouth.
I never told anyone what had happened.
I told everyone about
How I was completely destroyed on the inside,
How I was suffering from unseen wounds,
How things would mend in time,
How I still loved you.
I told everyone you were the world to me.
