- What Matters
Here I lie in this room.
This is the only place where I am heard.
There is no one to hear me but the dark.
I don’t know if I can take much more,
This place seems to take all sanity from me.
There is nothing left to hide from,
There is nowhere to hide,
This is the end.
Take my sanity from me and leave,
Leave me with the empty feeling as I laugh and tell my secrets to the dark.
Watch as I slowly unravel.
Listen as I say things I wouldn’t have said if I were still me.
Explain to me all is well and the voice in my head is real.
Tell me I’ll be fine and that I’ll leave this place soon.
I should know that you’re lying,
It’s all over your darkened face,
But I can’t tell what is truth and what is a lie.
This is the end.
