Goodbye Rylan
It started with a whispered name,
A piece of shocking news to share.
A silent gasp, a worried look,
Realizing he would no longer be there.
The news seeped in conversations quickly,
Confirming everyone’s worst fears.
A fatal bullet, a fallen friend,
No point in holding back the tears.
In the night, they gather with candles
And go the front steps to find
A floating balloon, a written farewell,
A last plea for time to rewind.
Love the ones you love the most,
Because they can be gone in the blink of an eye,
And they will leave you wondering:
Could that be our last goodbye?
