I should be lonely, sad.
My heart aches, but my mind is glad.
I needed air...space...it's all mine.
I have time, the whole world on my side.
A new section of life has been divided from my past.
A new staircase has been opened.
I am now following my own steps.
I have freedom to roam.
I'm not tied with a know of responsibility.
My rope has a loose end, waiting for a new anchor to pull.
I'm free.
I'm me.
And I'm ready to explore.

My first day of high school. A great day until the end. My boyfriend and I broke up after a year and 1/2. Part of me is sad, the other part is where the poem came from.
