Wish Upon a Star

By
I go outside its late at night,
but the moon is hiding but the stars are bright.
One star sparkles more than all the rest
and I decide that star is the best.
I close my eyes and wish with all my might,
but my wish is a secret that I hold tight.
If I tell my wish it won’t come true,
but if you lucky I’ll tell you.

Wow. This reminds me of myself almost exactly. This is so relatable to those who still have a glimpse of that little thing that was once so abundant in our lives: hope. I love the simplicity of it. This poem just makes me happy to read! Great Work!
