The season triggers.
Autumn lays
A blanket of color
Gently,
On the trees.
A gust of wind
Rattles the acorns
While the squirrels
Scrimmage
To capture them.
The scent of
The thin crisp air
Teases the nose.
Children and mothers
Shuffling about
Aisles of school supplies
Checking off
A lengthy list
And new trendy outfits
Fill the hallways.
From witches and ghosts
To turkey and thanks
We celebrate
The holidays of autumn.
Finally,
The leaves bid farewell
And the colorful season of autumn
Lets the cold, bitter season of winter
Take over.
