Midnight Talk
Waiting in bed,
 in the dark.
A second, a minute, an hour.
 Until finally,
 the light flicks on.
 A shadow emerges.
 He's ready to talk.
Give me advice on anything I need.
 Life.
 The future.
 The past.
 We've discussed them all.
 Some, more than once.
 Tonight's topic: Chemistry.
 Not boy chemistry.
 School chemistry.
The chemistry that destroyed my self-esteem.
 I need these talks.
 They keep me going.
