In I went.
Ready for "action"
Happy to blow stuff up

In I went.
On the boat
We sang happy songs

In I went.
To the camp
Where i got my gun

In I went.
Into training
Excited to get going

In I went.
Into night
Dreams turn to nothing

In I went.
In to homesickness
Doubt. Suspicion. Of loved ones

In I went.
The first fight
I was scared

In I went.
Into that house, behind my friend
When only red blur i saw

In I went.
A frenzy, reckless
Unloading clip after clip into nothing

In I went.
But we must move on, he is gone

In I went.
Looking for revenge
Counting my 'achievements'

In I went.
Into the convoy home
Out of the battlefield

In I went.
Into sleep
tears streaming down my face

In I went.
Into myself, alone
Haunted forever more

A changed man i became never to look at life the same
