Weep

Cold as the ice
Dark as the night
No stars or moonlight shine tonight
No sound resounding, no noise at all
To numb the chill that stills the air

Objects strewn
Deep red pools
Filth and grime everywhere
The grass is stained with crimson flecks
No moonlight breaks the clouds tonight

A weeping wail
A scream of pain
As deep and dark as the ocean floor
Breaks through the night, the silent night
To wake the sleeping children here

Weapons sheathed
No release
Anguish breaks the still, still night
Sobbing children everywhere
Weeping widows shed their tears.

Who is to blame?
This awful crime!
Who is to suffer for these deeds?
It is our fault, our fault alone!
These tear strewn faces are to blame!
