Memories hurt,
You remember things
That have been
That could have been
And yet they just won’t come back to you
They left the coop
And they aren’t going to fly back
Under the safety of the nest
But memories
Keep you going
So that you can reach
For something better
So you can make more memories
That may or may not make you happy
But for sure
There will be painful ones
But having memories to remember
Is what makes it all worth it
Because at least you know that you’ve
Lived
Experienced
All you could have
