Shhh, don’t move a muscle
Don’t make a sound
Something’s out to get you
And you musn’t attract attention
Shhh, you’re fidgeting
And you’re mumbling
I can’t get you to be quiet
Where’s that duct tape?
What ever is after you
Is not after me
So I guess I’m leaving
you can find your own way home
All alone in the musky deciduous
No compass in hand
No string of hope left
What’s going to happen?
I hear breathing
I hear snarling
I turn around
And say “shhh…”
