Michigan the mitten state
Little Lapeer county
Laughing children frolic in the streets
Sugary funnel cakes
The last rays of sun reflect off the asphalt
Wisps of wind dance through the sky
Rides go up like sky scrapers
masking the normal scenery
Night falls as the town comes alive
Crowded streets
like a beautiful ballet
Through the chaos I see
you.

That slow sure smile spreads
Just touching your eyes with light
Those warm hazel eyes
light the night
Everything else slows to a blur
and it's just you and me
It seems ages before we touch
Your hand sending jolts
Through my fingertips

The ferris wheel twinkles
As it spins in time
We go up, up, up
Till we can touch the stars
You catch me by surprise
With a soft slow kiss
So much passion in that one kiss
The love is palpable between us
And I know
You’re mine.
