The Storm
Voices screaming
Children cry
Cuddling with their teddy bears
Thunder booms like cannons going off at war
Grey clouds form together like a giant blanket in the
Mysterious, dark sky
Lightning screaming down at Earth; shaking the trees
That are swaying back and forth through the wind
Their bark and twigs, cracking and breaking
Police sirens are heard throughout town
Weeping clouds make cold rain pour down
Plunk! Plunk! Plunk! Plunk!
Hitting the houses as they fall
Lights in the house switch on and off, on and off
Nervousness and fear are shown through people’s eyes
Candles are lit; Flashlights are held
And a young girl writes in her journal
Waiting for the storm
To pass
