You're waiting for Superman
But that's not me
I lack the courage
The strength
The unbending morals
The unyielding rightousness
The right words at the right times
The knowing when you want me
When you need me
And when you don't
I'm not perfect
So far from it
I've got problems, I've got fears
I've got insecurities, I've got jealousies
Threaten me, I get scared
Attack me, I run
Wound me, I bleed
Hurt me, I cry
I lose my temper
I can't always have control
I'm not respected, not revered
No reason to be
Because the only thing that matters to me
is You.
And that isn't good enough
For the the girl who waits
For the S on the chest
I can't save this world
I won't lie
I probably couldn't save you
But you need to know I'd try
And if the time came
I would not hesitate to die.

That's not what you want, though
And you never will.

This is very good! Honest, feeling, and not too self-pitying!
