Forevermore
Forevermore is nothing new; but you –
You offer me a couple days of bliss.
A pocketful of stars and midnight blue,
You offer me a respite with a kiss.
Your eyes on me, like candles, warm my skin
Your ivory complexion holds the sun
The moon would only lose to your sweet grin
Your bearing that could never come undone.
Your words crash over me like ocean blue
Your voice as ardent as a fire bold
It offers me the gift of something new
The treasure of your thoughts- stories untold
Yet after this you leave me to myself
My lonely heart placed back upon a shelf
