Until I See You Smile Again
Seconds turn to minutes,
Minutes turn to hours,
Hours turn to days
Until I see your smile again.
There’s no logic behind this feeling.
No reason for it to stay.
It shouldn’t be there at all
But here it is.
I smile to hide the excitement inside,
I hide my face from meeting your eyes,
Cause if I do
I lose control.
Only for a second, but I still
Lose the part of my heart left
On lock down. The part of me
I try to ignore all together.
The simple things you do to me
Make me smile. A simple hello
In my direction makes me as though
I can fly high above the rest of the world.
It's the way you make me laugh
When I want to cry. The way
You make me come alive when
I’d rather just hide.
I know it’s probably not the same for you.
So I’ll take these little
Moments and hold onto them.
But still in the depths of my heart
The seconds turn to minutes,
The minutes turn to hours,
And the hours turn to days,
Until I see your smile again.
