Letter This work has been published in the Teen Ink monthly print magazine.

I'm sorry if it's sloppy, but I've rewritten this a hundred times,
And no matter how I word it, the letter doesn't come out right.

SoI'm leaving this the way it is, and I hope you'll disregard
My spelling, andpunctuation. Getting the nerve to write this was just too hard.

I sitbehind you in English class. I'm the quiet kid in the back,
And every timeyou look at me, I have a heart attack.

We've talked a little, and to bequite honest, I've wanted to ask you out for a week.
But when it comes downto saying the words, I find it hard to speak,

And I know that you havethis effect on guys other than myself,
But I've fallen so in love with youI'm seeking psychiatric help.

Now I'm writing you this letter, just tosave a little face,
Because I am no match for your charm, your style, yourbeauty and your grace.

In closing, I hope you sympathize with mypassion-driven plight,
By turning around and saying that you're free onFriday night.
