The earth is awakening and alive as the thunder booms and the earth moans
Our Mother Nature weeps cold hard tears over us
Pattering on our rooftops like the feet of little mice
Absorbing back down into the parched, cracked ground
Bringing about life again
Another long long agonized moan rolls out from behind the darkened clouds
Lightning lights up the sky for a mere second
Like a flickering candle being snuffed out
And it sends the creatures of the forest scattering
Like a dropped bag of marbles

It was a very rainy, thunder-stormy type of day when my good friend Sara inspired me for this poem.
