I love the way you brighten the sky
Just before the dark falls over us
I adore your reds, yellows, and oranges
Oh, how it makes you glow!
Just before the dark rolls over us.
The beauty of you
Takes my breath away
Has me stopping in my tracks
Just as your beams begin to blow
Which sends a quick
Moment of glimmer
Through the sky
Your beauty shouldn’t be taken for granted
But yet, very few people know
The way you brighten the world
Just before it goes low.
We are filled with despair
Which we can’t seem to neglect
Which takes away the beauty
Of the sunset.
The fire behind the roof tops
That’s what you are to me
The way the your fire turns from yellow to red to gold
The way your flames lick the sky
Makes it look like we’re all going to burn
You’re the most beautiful thing
I’ve ever seen
Which sends a great joy through me
To know you’ll be here everyday
As you fade away
Behind the ocean sea
I think of only one thing
Is how my life would be
If I didn’t have the beauty of thee.
