I watch the drop fall
on it's descent
down,
down,
downward
to the floor of the waterfall.
A ray of sunlight
grazes it,
and the droplet becomes a
minuscule,
fragile,
piece of glass
that shatters
as it hits the surface
of the shallow water.

The author's comments:
I wrote this while taking a summer class. There is a neat-lookin' waterfall on the university campus that inspired this poem.
