War is a rainbow,
Arcing through years,
Red for the blood
And blue for the tears.
War is a rainbow,
You know what I mean.
The anger is orange
And the envy is green.
War is a rainbow,
Though the very least mellow.
The violence is violet
And the sickly are yellow.
War is a rainbow
Through which fear has blown...
…It’s the ugliest rainbow
I’ve ever known.
