The Thrills of Spontaneity MAG
and so we took offin a whirlwind of
pulsating speakers and abandoned insecurities
tryingto break the sound barrier
in a '94 Toyota Camry
* * * *
we barreledover potholes and
every unfulfilled expectation
as we cranked up thevolume
until the dial finally broke off
* * * *
and soon there wasnothing but
the shimmering of headlights
the white-hot heartbeats of othertravellers like ourselves
and soon there was only the side glances and insidejokes
of three intertwining auras
knowing that, once in a while, you justneed to grab the keys
