Drivingfor hours, searching for nowhere
With each mile, the sun climbedhigher
above the horizon
Yellow
Orange Gold

Driving forhours, searching for nowhere.
Warm spring breeze filled up thejalopy
Engulfing our lungs with its bittersweet aroma
sweetflowers
pollen perfume
Intertwined with the stench of Parliamentcigarettes

Driving for hours, searching for nowhere
Boomingbass
crashed into our ears
Green eyes crashed into mine
sexualtension

Driving for hours, searching for nowhere
My eyes found thegreen
Got lost in his presence
Found my hands in his palms
My head hithis white tattered jersey
dirt-covered
soaked with sweat
Found his skinmoist with perspiration
his lips trembling for the first time
found ourlips meeting
our hearts both beating

Driving for hours searching, fornowhere
His lacrosse stick rattled along with the bass
A tiny red ball wastossed left to right
hitting the walls of the trunk hard
As if it wereanxious to escape
It stopped. Everything eventually stopped.
But we hadstarted.

Driving for hours, searching for nowhere
the sun fell intonight
Gold Purple
Black

Driving for hours, searching fornowhere
maybe we were searching for somewhere
Maybe we were searching forlove.
Drove for hours, dawn till dusk
Maybe we found it.
