Evening on the Beach
I STARE AT THE DYING SUMMER SKY
BEFORE IT VANISHES BEHIND THE BLANKET OF ROLLING CLOUDS
THE SAND ON MY BACK TINGLES LIKE A WARM BEARS HUG
AND WITH THE SPRINKLE OF COOL RAINDROPS
I AM PERFECTLY SNUG
I CAN HEAR THE YOUNG CHILDREN LAUGHING
AS THEY SPLASH IN THE DEEP BLUE SEA
AND THE WHISPERING OF THE WIND
AS IT WANDERS IN THE NIGHT
MAKES ME NEVER WANT TO LEAVE
THE SCENT FROM THE SLIMY GREEN SEAWEED
SLOWLY FLOATS OVER MY WAY
AND AS THE COOL SUMMER BREEZE
BRUSHES OVER MY BODY
I QUICKLY DRIFT OFF TO SLEEP
