rain pounds against the roof
with the sound of a stampede
a white hot flash of lightning brightens the sky
with an intensity no man can create
loud thunder rolls across the land in a rage
the wind howls its song to the pitch black sky
trees sway under the strong gust of wind
the oceans waves are pulling this way and that
and the sea sprays high into the air

children run to the savekeeping of a mothers reassuring hug
dogs whimper at every harsh noise
babies cry and teenagers sleep like the dead
such is a summer night shower in our sweet sunny Florida
