Water

With water vanishing and none to drink,
some people fight until the very brink
of desperation makes their faces pale.
One can’t know how low human kind will sink.

The substance that all mankind has to hail
is found in abundance around a vale.
This drink is vital and a must for man.
It can be found in nasty rooms in jail.

It comes from nature then to our warm pan
to boil and cook the soup poured from a can.
The merchant rides his camel through the sand
days without water and rest near a fan.

The hurricane struck us with its dark hand,
just obeying nature’s destructive command.
The tsunami struck quickly and no time,
remained to help the victims killed on land.

The liquid, gas, and solid told in rhyme
has value beyond, making it sublime.
Earth’s water is a valuable large part
of us that cleans our body’s sickly grime.

The author's comments:
The world most abundant, yet most priceless commodity, water, has an intrinsic beauty of its own.
