How can it be 2009
(How can I be 17?)
When just yesterday
It was 2001?
(I was 9.)
How can I be planning for college
When just yesterday
I was afraid I wouldn’t get fit in
At my middle school?
How does time fly?
Is it one day and then the other
A stream
A line
Moving in one direction?
Or does it move in two
Or three
Or maybe four directions at once?
Can it be that today
Is yesterday
And tomorrow
And 2003 won’t be
Until the day after next Tuesday?
(Next Wednesday I’ll be planning a photoshoot,
don’t bother 2003.)
